Shrishti Singh, PhD

Strategy Analyst at University of Michigan

About Me


My journey into technology translation began at the bench. During my Ph.D. in Bioengineering at George Mason University, I spent years engineering propietary nanoparticle formulations for non-invasive cancer imaging — work that taught me how difficult it is to move a great scientific idea from the lab to something that actually helps patients. That gap became the question I've spent my career chasing. 
I co-founded NIRView Biosciences to commercialize a proprietary oncology formulation, securing industrial partnerships and non-dilutive funding, and later served as an NSF Entrepreneur Lead, conducting 300+ stakeholder interviews to stress-test product-market fit across the life sciences industry. The proprietary nanoparticle technology is now successfully licensed to NanoOptical Biomedical.  Each experience pulled me further from pure research and deeper into the strategic questions behind it: What makes a technology investable? What makes it scalable? What makes it real? 
Today, I sit at the intersection of science and strategy. As a Technology Transfer Fellow at University of Michigan Innovation Partnerships, I evaluated emerging life sciences technologies for licensing and venture potential. Currently,  as a Strategy Analyst helping launch Unit X — a $250M Bio-AI Innovation institute — I'm applying that same translational instinct at institutional scale: benchmarking peer institutes, creating strategies for an innovation engine, and building the analytics infrastructure leadership needs to make high-stakes decisions. 
My path has been unconventional — bench scientist to founder to strategist — but the throughline hasn't changed: I translate complex life-sciences innovation into ventures, partnerships, and institutions built to last.
